Testing and evaluation

A user interface should be evaluated during its development. Uncovering errors at an early stage saves both time and money in error correction and extra work. Testing and evaluation can be done by involving real users or by usability experts working through the solution.

The advantages of using real users and carrying out a usability test are:

- You learn more about your users
- Your users will be much more satisfied with your system
- You end up with a more effective system

In addition to traditional usability testing, we can also do tests using eye tracking, remote usability testing and usability testing with the visually impaired.

You can also carry out an expert evaluation, where a usability expert goes through the solution and evaluates it against a range of criteria for user-friendliness.
